Like-A -Bike

offroad

Sometimes simple ideas really work. My two year old goes out into garden puts on his bicycle helmet and races around the garden freewheeling and in control while my five year old who learned with stabilisers has just found her balance and can't keep up.
This is a great product - but there is a valuable lesson - learners don't need stabilisers ;-)

Couldn't agree more - the freedom, the fun, the experimentation........... the transition to pedalling still took some hard work and knocks though!!!

I'd be careful with bike helmets, especially for under-fives. As far as I know all the deaths from strangulation due to bike helmets have been in under-fives. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle_helmet#Strangulation_by_helmet_straps for some cases. I don't wear a helmet and neither do my children - they don't seem to work, see http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/332/7543/722-a.
